Hi, I’m Nine, and I used to be a Republican and a Catholic. Now I’m an American. LOC isn’t so much of a statement about my political leanings as it is about how much of a wierdo I can be. Read more...

Amazing. Thanks to the Patriot Room for putting this up.
As the grandson of a guy who sold GM for 40 years, and having married into a family that worked at the (now defunct) F-150 plant here in Chesapeake, it really sucks to see what’s happening. Part of it is cars that just don’t hold up, to be honest. But the UAW bears a significant amount of the blame for what has happened. I watched the hearings, and while I was struck by the massive PR nightmare of it all for the CEO’s, I was appalled by the President of the UAW, who appeared to be unwilling to understand the unions part in this, and was unwilling to make any concessions to keep HIS workers in their jobs.
My money says he will be the first to bitch when one of the Big 3 goes under, but he SHOULD be the first bastard up against the wall for it.
But, I’m biased towards the GM side of the equation. Now, if they’d just make a car worth buying again…
As if posting a video of Obama changes anything from two days ago, GP? Damn, I can do that too.
Of course, two days ago you tried to say that Obama said “I Am The Change”, when he clearly did NOT say that. McClatchy wrote it, and you put those words in Obama’s mouth as a direct quote.
The video you just posted proves that.
I refer you again to the following quote by Ronald Reagan:
You surround yourself with the best people you can find, delegate authority, and don’t interfere as long as the overall policy that you’ve decided upon is being carried out. In the Cabinet meetings–and some members of the Cabinet who have been members of other Cabinets told me that there had never been such meetings–I use a system in which I want to hear what everybody wants to say honestly. I want the decisions made on what is right or wrong, what is good or bad for the people of this country. I encourage all the input I can get…And when I’ve heard all that I need to make a decision, I don’t take a vote, I make the decision. Then I expect every one of them, whether their views have carried the day or not, to go forward together in carrying out the policy.
Reagan and Obama are completely sympatico on this. Your only problem is that one’s a Republican and the other is a Democrat.
If the idiots over in Blogtardistan keep playing penny ante, they’re not going to have any stack when Obama really does try to bluff.
I’ll be right there with you when he does fuck up. Til then, the only fuckups I see are over in Blogtardistan.
There’s a lot of bravado to Calacanis, even he’ll admit that. I look forward to the weekly back and forth between him and John C. Dvorak on TWiT.
I hate that he rags on ChaCha, but he does have some very valid points about it.
Click the link and read him shredding Randall Stross of the New York Times on why supporting Tesla is the absolute best thing you can do. I agree 100%, and I’m looking forward to that affordable vehicle. Of course, I *lust* after that roadster, but I’d buy an electric vehicle as long as I wasn’t giving something up in the way of distance, performance, and quality in the process.
This Christmas, as things are pretty tight for everyone, just think about what going through your home and getitng rid of the stuff you don’t use or need could do for others who COULD use or DO need what you’re hanging onto.
May I suggest your local Freecycle for giving things away?
