Denver’s U.S. attorney is expected to speak on Tuesday afternoon about the arrests of four people suspected in a possible plot to shoot Barack Obama at his Thursday night acceptance speech in Denver.

Bill Clinton Not Happy With Convention Speech Topic.

The former president is disappointed, associates said, because he is eager to speak about the economy and more broadly about Democratic ideas — emphasizing the contrast between the Bush years and his own record in the 1990s.

Will Someone Grab this egomaniac by the short and curlies and tell him that the convention isn’t about him or his wife? 

I bet he will mention the name of the Nominee one time during his speech.  The cynic in me says he goes out just like he came in: Boring everyone to tears at a Convention. 

He’s that much of a vindictive bastard that I see him making a long and boring speech because he thinks he’ll get away with it.   The real bet is, if anyone will call him on it if he tries.

Cafe Talk | Talking Points Memo | PAUL BEGALA AND JAMES CARVILLE ARE ACTIVELY UNDERCUTTING OBAMA AT THE DNC CONVENTION.

Apparently the plan is for Bill and Hillary to be gracious and above the fray, while their surrogates are stirring up trouble. 

If they have the slightest ounce of decency at all, they willl publicly denounce this, and call for the crap to stop. Today. 

They won’t.  It’s not about party unity, or about the election, the Democrats, or even America.  Bill and Hillary Clinton are only about Bill and Hillary Clinton.  It’s time the Democrats recognize that, and leave them on the side of I-25.   Clinton WILL cost you the election if you let them, solely so she can run in 4 years. 

Democrats, ask yourself what is in your best interests.  Obama today, or McCain today and Clinton tomorrow?

What Obama’s Text Message Campaign Reveals - GigaOM.

Reading this article, I am struck by the thought that for all the bluster by the Republicans,the Pundits, and the Blogtards about how Obama’s years as a community organizer does not qualify him to be President, It certainly does appear to give him the qualification to run a better campaign.  Then something else hit me:  Years ago, in the days of the Republican Rebirth, and the Contract with America, evangelicals affiliated with the Christian Coalition gave out “voter guides”.  They encouraged folks to register and discussed religion and politics from the pulpit.  

At the time, it was a great–although somewhat dubious–grassroots movement.  Being honest, it brought forth the multitudes, and it gave Washington to the Republicans.  The trouble with that strategy in this day and age is simply put.  Not everybody goes to church.  But the Internet?  That’s another matter entirely.  Not only that, but the Internet just screams at the 18-34 group.  Obama has recognized that his hope to win lies with the 18-34 group, and his Internet strategy is centered on that.  The magical text message wasn’t the point.  Getting your information WAS.   Between now and the election, your connection to Obama will provide you with National and Local Political info, as well as reminders to get your butt out to volunteer and vote.   By the millions. 

Genius.  I hope you were paying attention these past 19 months, because any successful campaign in the future is going to have to build on this model.

Linda Bergthold: Obama’s Not Specific Enough? Gimme a Break.

I spent part of this weekend and part of today listening to folks that haven’t the first clue about Obama’s plans, or whether or not he has one.  One of these folks still holds to the beliefe that Obama’s a Muslim.  Personally, I’m finding that I can tell people what has been said or written about Obama to tell the truth, and these folks wouldn’t listen anyway.

So.  Follow the link above for a great post about Obama’s specific plans, or go to his damn website and download them yourself.  In this day and age, where this information is publicly available, it’s damn sad that people still believe stupidity.

Alternately, believe whatever you want.  It’s your right.  Just do us a favor: If you’re not going to bother to educate yourself, we’d really appreciate it if you stay home.  It’s all good, it’s just that you’re too stupid to make an informed decision.

…and tell Bill Clinton the news?

I just heard Obama talk about the person he has chosen to be his vice president.  Funny how a couple of bland descriptions can immediately bring Hillary’s stock back on the rise, but I believe Obama’s stock only declines with a HRC VP Pick. 

There are legions of voters who are bitter over HRC not getting the nomination.  Many of these are women HRC’s age, who remember the failed age of the ERA.  These women saw HRC as an attempt to make up for perceived egregious wrongs by not ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.  Women’s Lib was set to make a grand comeback, until the black guy came along.  

The uproar and open revolt from the HRC wing of the Democratic Party has been loud, and has grown even louder as we get closer to the convention.  Talk of open revolt on the floor of the convention.  HRC has taken notice, and has parlayed this into leverage for her demands.  Speaking at the Convention.  Having her name put in for the first ballot.  Having Bill speak at the convention.  Obama, being somewhat gracious, has deferred each time.  He should be commended for being as gracious as he has been.  However, he should also be wary that appeasing the Clinton’s is done at your peril.  I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could comfortably spit a refrigerator.

There is also the GOP to consider.  Make no mistake that they are watching Obama “roll over” for Clinton at almost every turn.  ”If he rolls over for Hillary,” they will suggest, “how can you expect that he’ll show any grit when it comes to the Russians, the Chinese, the North Koreans, the Iranians, bin Laden?”  

A vote for Obama is a vote for appeasement, they’ll say.  

If he does choose Clinton as his Vice President, I fear they may finally have something right.

Well just to let you know, the Freaks are now in town. Late last night I was asked by a Denverite citizen as I was on my way home. To intervene in a situation at the Paramount restaurant. Where a man showed up with a red bag, full of guns who was claiming he was going to kill Senator Obama. Fortunately said person was handled readily by DPD (Denver Police Dept) and yours truly managed to side step the issue. But still just to let you know, the Freaks are coming out of the wood work and more then usual.

But, you know, the homeless are getting free haircuts.  So…
