While everyone is getting ready for the DNC Convention starting tomorrow, I’ve been getting things ready for Loon, Faux, and Quasi. They’re going to be piling in a car on Friday, and heading to St. Paul for us and blogging and covering as much of the RNC as they can.

As it stands right now, we are going to have three correspondents at the GOP Convention in St. Paul. LoonRadio, FauxPseudo, and QuasiPsyco. Faux would like you to know the following: he is going to be looking for Lake Wobegon, and that someone should have bail money ready.

The plan is to cover not only the goings on of the convention itself, but the goings on outside the center. Being the Republican Convention, we’re positive there will be plenty of action outside as well. Overall, we plan to have a lot of fun at the expense of politics, protesters, and St. Paul in general. Without getting arrested, we hope.

OK, I hope they don’t get arrested. You never can tell with Faux…

I really have to credit Loon for this, because none of this would be even possible without him. I owe him a great deal of thanks for even having the idea. I see this as the beginnings of great things, and the start of a direction I had never thought of prior to this year. If this works out well, we’ll be planning some other things.

i’ve had a couple of requests to split off the news feed from the other content. As always, podcasts have always been a separate feed, and you can find that down on the sidebar by clicking on the ubiquitous Podcast logo. I ask merely for informational purposes.

As you’re aware, I’ve been told for over a year now that the server my site is hosted on has a problem reporting stats. It’s also taken their on time guarantee and shoved it in the crapper, as far as I’m concerned. Last week, I decided I’d had enough of being told that this is on the list to be fixed, and demanded to know exactly WHEN.

No, I didn’t get that. What I did get, was moved to their Urchin Server. Fine with me, I just want the information.

Now THAT’S broken. No information since 7/12. Ain’t that purrrrrty?

So, Kim and I are watching The Big Idea, and the subject tonight was regarding marriage, partnerships, and business. It got us talking about how we can make LOC work better, and how we can work more towards our own dream of doing our own thing, signing our own paycheck, and basically telling the world to piss off (but in the nicest way possble.)

For me, it comes down to schedules. I don’t have the hours in the day to do it all. But, after a 10 hour day at the job, I’m gassed. Luckily, the site still runs, but without my own original content, it’s little more than a syndicated site. The Freakfeed is there for people to post of course, but until the site really reaches a massive level, it’s going to be slow going.

So, here’s what we’ve come up with:

First, I’m going to remind you all that we have the Freakfeed. It’s the one feed on the site that is made specifically for you to post whatever you want. All you have to do is register here, and you’re on your way.

I have to write more for the Blog Section, and more for the Features Section. Working on some things now.

I have to get back behind a microphone, and podcast. That’s a given. The Smartass well runneth dry, but there is some things in the back of my head more of a Blaque Of The Night bent. I’m sure that this pleases some of you out there who heart Alex Blaque more than life itself. He’s out there, and he’s blocking the creativity highway. So, I’ve got to get him through.

Tagging Posts. The mother’s milk of blogging. We’ve got to catch up with tagging posts.

And, completely unrelated to all of this, I’ve resolved to do between 10 and 20 dollars a day in ChaCha.
That’s between 50 and 100 posts.

So, here’s what we’re going to do about it. LOC Prime time is between 8-10pm. I’m going to ChaCha, while Kimmensity tags posts. We’re going to have a microphone on between us, and we’ll pod while we’re doing that for a little while. After that, I’m going to find something to write about, and then we’ll call it a day.

I’m resolved to write 1-3 blog posts per day of my own about (and this is a technical term) SOME KIND OF BULLSHIT.

I’m going so far as to even schedule this crap out. I have to. Or, I’m not going to do it. Motivation gets you started, but HABIT makes it successful. Or, so I’m told.

One of the problems I’ve had in trying to keep the Podcasting current, was that if I recorded the Dashcast, I had to tether up to the Black Pearl, copy file to my PC, and then upload through the FTP program on my PC.

Found a program today called Total Commander CE, through smartphone-freeware.com. It’s a file manager program with an FTP client . Earlier today, I was able to record Dashcast 21 (a small test), and upload it directy from the phone. That’s huge news.

Next, direct uploading of Youtube video, if its possible.

Yeah. Funny story.

The gear I use to create The American Smartass, well, it isn’t working. What I THINK happened is that I changed a setting somewhere, and now I can’t exactly remember what setting I tweaked. Bottom line, I could scream into this microphone right now and you aren’t going to hear a blasted thing.

So, as soon as I trace everything back through the juryrigging I have here just to make this blasted thing work right, I will be back to Smartassing all over the place. Y’know, like I originally PLANNED to do today. But, you see how that works out, right?
