The BDS Post Du Jour has now shown up over at The Other McCain, although at least he’s got the closest thing to a sane approach on it.
Honestly, I don’t understand the fascination on the part of the press that Obama’s tooling around on the beach shirtless, any more than I understood the fascination of watching Bush fight the brush in Crawford. I suppose that this is supposed to show some human side of the people we select as our Leaders, but I didn’t vote for Obama because he’s got manly bulging pecs. I hesitate to say that no one with a modicum of intelligence would vote for someone because of something so shallow, but I’m reminded of the fact that this is the same voting pool that keeps American Idol and Survivor on the air.
I can speak for myself when I say I don’t really give a flip about the human, fun loving, family side of Barack Obama. I care whether or not he’s going to do the job we elected him to do, and I care about how well or poorly he does it. That’s all anyone OUGHT to care about. Everything else is candy floss, and doesn’t matter.
Unless, of course, you’re a shallow press with nothing to report, or a shallow right wing blogtard with nothing else to complain about.
